My mom is the one who came up with this recipe for peach cobbler, and it has become a family favourite recipe that she made for us on a regular basis when we were growing up. It literally only takes five minutes to put together, which is the best part about it! It was common for my mother to use a quart jar of homemade canned peaches, but you can do the same thing with fresh peaches!

Ingredients

  • 5 peaches , peeled, cored and sliced (about 4 cups)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
For the batter:

  • 6 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • ground cinnamon

  • To a saucepan, add the sliced peaches, sugar, and salt, and stir to combine all of the ingredients.
  • For a few minutes, cook over medium heat until the sugar is completely dissolved, which will assist in extracting juices from the peaches after they have been cooked.
