Holiday menus should always include Sweet Potato Casserole with Pecan Streusel Topping! My family begged me to make this recipe after we finished planning Thanksgiving food assignments. They said Thanksgiving wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without it, and I brought this recipe to a family party and it was a hit.
INGREDIENTS
- 3 pounds sweet potatoes (about 3 large)
- 1/3 cup butter, softened
- 1/3 cup milk
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
TOPPING:
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS
- Assemble the sweet potatoes. Cut into cubes measuring one inch in size. Fill a large pot with salted water and add to it.
- After bringing to a boil over high heat, reduce the heat to a simmer and continue cooking for approximately fifteen to twenty minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
- Sweet potatoes to be drained. Make sure there are no large chunks by thoroughly mashing the potatoes with a potato masher.
- Include butter that has been softened, milk, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Mix the ingredients by hand, or use a hand mixer or an electric mixer to achieve a smoother consistency.
- After thoroughly combining the ingredients, blend in the eggs until they are fully incorporated.
- The oven should be preheated to 350 degrees. After preparing a baking dish measuring 9 by 13 inches, butter or grease it, and then transfer the sweet potato mixture to the dish.
- All of the topping ingredients, including flour, brown sugar, melted butter, salt, pecans, and cinnamon, should be mixed together in a medium bowl to assemble the topping.
- A uniform amount should be sprinkled over the sweet potato mixture.
- Baking at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes, until the centre is set and the top is golden brown, is the recommended method.
