INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheating the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (177 degrees Celsius). Pantry paper should be used to line the bottom and two sides of an 8×8 pan.
- Butter, unsalted, should be placed in a heat-safe bowl. Melt the butter completely over heat. This may be accomplished using either a bain marie or the microwave.
- When employing the microwave, gradually heat the mixture for 30 seconds while stirring intermittently until it is completely melted and combined. Ensure that the granulated sugar is thoroughly incorporated.
- Using a whisk, thoroughly combine the red gel food coloring, vanilla extract, and vinegar. Whisk in the cocoa powder and eggs until thoroughly combined. Flour should be whisked in until just combined.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan in an even manner.
- Allow to bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Allow the brownies to cool for 30 minutes in the pan. Once completely cooled, remove the brownies from the pan and frost them with the cream cheese frosting.
- To prepare the cream cheese frosting for brownies, cream together the butter and cream cheese with a whisk until thoroughly combined and airy. Combine the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon of milk. Whip the cream cheese frosting until thoroughly combined and smooth.
Apply the cream cheese frosting to the red brownies once they have completely cooled. 20 to 30 minutes in the refrigerator will set the frosted brownies back if the frosting becomes too warm or soft. Proceed to slice and relish!
NOTES
- When the red brownies have reached room temperature, remove the cream cheese frosting from them and store them in an airtight container for up to three to four days. Once the brownies have reached room temperature, remove the frosting.
- Put the red velvet brownies with cream cheese frosting in the refrigerator: Once the brownies have been topped with cream cheese frosting, they should be immediately placed in the refrigerator.
- Cut the brownies into the number of pieces that you are comfortable with. After placing them in a single layer, place them in the refrigerator to chill until the frosting has hardened.
- When you are ready to store them for a longer period of time, transfer them to an airtight container. Apply wax or parchment paper to the layers in order to separate them.
- Put in some white chocolate chips: Take the recipe for the red velvet brownies exactly as it is written.
