The season for peaches is, without a doubt, the most wonderful time of the year, is that correct? I really enjoy going to farms that allow you to pick your own produce or purchasing a large box from a local vendor. Peaches are one of those things that I could never get tired of eating all the time! Beginning with my favourite homemade peach freezer jam, I rotate through all of my favourite peach recipes throughout the year. I have an excessive number of favourite peach recipes.

My mom is the one who came up with this recipe for peach cobbler, and it has become a family favourite recipe that she made for us on a regular basis when we were growing up. It literally only takes five minutes to put together, which is the best part about it! It was common for my mother to use a quart jar of homemade canned peaches, but you can do the same thing with fresh peaches!

Instructions

  • To a saucepan, add the sliced peaches, sugar, and salt, and stir to combine all of the ingredients.
  • For a few minutes, cook over medium heat until the sugar is completely dissolved, which will assist in extracting juices from the peaches after they have been cooked.

  • Take the pan off the heat and set it aside. Ready the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a baking dish measuring 9 by 13 inches, cut the butter into pieces and add them.
  • At the same time that the oven is heating up, put the pan inside so that the butter can melt properly. As soon as the pan has melted, take it out of the oven.

  • Flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt should all be mixed together in a large bowl. Mix in the milk until it is completely incorporated.
  • When you pour the mixture into the pan, make sure to smooth it out so that it forms an even layer over the melted butter.

  • After the batter has been prepared, pour the peaches and juice (or canned peaches, if you prefer) over it. A generous amount of cinnamon should be sprinkled on top.
  • To bake at 350 degrees for approximately 38 to 40 minutes. Warm the dish and serve it with a dollop of ice cream, if desired.

How to store and reheat peach cobbler

The best way to enjoy peach cobbler is fresh out of the oven, when it is still warm. Cover any leftover cobbler and place it in the refrigerator for four to five days. Either the microwave or the oven can be used to reheat peach cobbler.

When you want to reheat something in the oven, you must first remove it from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately twenty minutes, or until well warmed through. (If it is browning too much, cover it with tinfoil and set it aside).
