Chili Lime Air Fryer Cod Recipe- Step by Step Guide
Cod is going to become your new best friend if you are looking for simple ways to incorporate protein into your meals without simultaneously adding a significant amount of more fat or calories.
This simple recipe for an air fryer is packed with bright citrus flavors, garlic, and sweet mild chili powder. It was inspired by my recipe for Chili Lime Baked Cod.
My goal was to prepare a flavorful cod dish using the air fryer that was abundant in flavor. We are all aware that cod, due to its naturally mild flavor, can have a taste that is relatively uninteresting.
Equipment
-
Air Fryer
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs cod cut into 4 individual filets
- ¼ cup avocado oil
- Zest of 1 lime
- 2 Tbsp lime juice
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp sea salt to taste
- ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions
- The cod should be removed from its packaging and placed on a plate or cutting board before being consumed.
- Using paper towels, remove any excess moisture that may be present.
- Note: In order to ensure that the fish cooks evenly, you should make sure that the filets have completely thawed.
- The marinade can be made by combining all of the ingredients in a measuring cup or a mixing bowl and stirring them together until they are thoroughly combined.
- Pour the marinade over the cod fillets that have been placed in a zip-top bag or another container that can be sealed.
- To ensure that everything is evenly coated in marinade, you should first seal the bag (or container) and then move it around.
- Be sure to refrigerate for at least half an hour and up to ten hours.
- Prepare the air fryer for cooking the cod by preheating it to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for five minutes before you begin cooking it.
- After the cod filets have been marinated, place them in the basket of the air fryer and cook them for somewhere between eight and twelve minutes, depending on the thickness of the filets, or until the fish reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
- You might want to cook the filets for a longer period of time until they reach the level of crispiness that you prefer. This will give them a golden brown color.
